World Autism Awareness Day
Assistive Technologies, Active Participation
April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. We're celebrating everyone with Autism Spectrum Disorder today, as well as their parents, teachers, carers and everyone else who supports and cares for them. This year there is a particular focus on the importance of assistive technologies.
While there have been a lot of developments in assistive technologies, there are often still a lot of barriers to using these, including their cost, availability, and lack of awareness and training in their use. We hope to see these barriers broken down, to enable people with autism to participate fully and actively in their communities.
