my training

I completed my general paediatric training at the Women's and Children's Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Port Augusta Hospital. My training included valuable additional experience in the Child Development Unit of the WCH prior to admission to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2019.

I graduated from Griffith University in 2010. I completed a Masters by Research through the Women's and Children's Vaccine and Clinical Research Trial Unit & the University of Adelaide. My Masters evaluated the incidence and risk factors of Neonatal Group B Streptococcal Infection. Prior to becoming a doctor, I worked as a pharmacist in Australia and the United Kingdom.

a bit more about me

My private practice is balanced with a position with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital CAVUC Service and a busy family life.  I try to keep my sense of humour and light-heartedness in play as I work to help young people with the issues and challenges that bring them to me.

my Neonatal care fee gap schedule:

The gap is the portion of my fees not covered by standard Medicare rebates or, if for admitted care, your health fund’s remittance.

Most families are eligible for substantial additional Medicare Safety Net rebates, which further reduce these standard gaps. Please contact my Accounts or Practice Manager for further information.

MY NEONATAL CARE FEE GAP SCHEDULE:

The gap is the portion of my fees not covered by standard Medicare rebates or, if for admitted care, your health fund’s remittance.

Most families are eligible for additional Medicare Safety Net rebates, further reducing these standard gaps. Please contact my Accounts or Practice Manager for further information.

The maximum out-of-pocket cost for your account will be $600 ($850 max for twins).

  • This gap may apply where, during your baby’s stay in the hospital, any attendance to your baby is required for

    • an out-of-hours planned C-section (between 5.00 pm to 8.00 am)

    • an unplanned urgent need for assessment and care.

  • Families should budget for this in case this kind of attendance is needed.

Otherwise, your maximum gap will be either

    • $500 where initial attendance to baby is at a planned in-hours elective procedure (e.g. elective C-section) or

    • $350, where all attendances to your baby after delivery are routine, in-hours or within my planned rounds.

I have established my fee schedule to assist families in planning for their care costs, but I may vary these fees at my discretion.
